We are already signing up people for mere commercial space flights as tourists. It would be a great extension imagine the commercial exploitation of natural resources of the solar system. The profit motive will get things done much faster and effective than any space program government – unless there is a convenient military reason. When mining occurs, the space colonies is likely to continue on Mars and the Moon. Should be interesting to see that developing events.
